Problem in converting hg8245w5 to access point

Hi guys i have the hg8245w5 and I tried to use it as access points to increase the signal in my house my main is DG8245W2 so i tried some methods i saw earlier in this forum so I changed the IP address for hg8245w5 and remove the DCHP and it’s worked as an access point (or router I don’t know what exactly called just use the second router to increase the signal) so my problem is the LAN is working and with full speed like the main exactly but when I use the wifi it’s shows that no internet connection!!!? So anyone knows how to solve it ?

Hello, friend!


As mentioned above, Huawei ONTs cannot be configured as APs, and no corresponding solution is available.


The ONT is an independent optical network terminal device. APs are mainly used as wireless access points. They are not of the same type.

Hello,

The HG8245W5 is a GPON ONT and cannot be configured as an AP, and the ONT also does not support a serial connection.

If you need to extend wifi, you need to use a separate AP device.

If you are an enterprise user, you can set the second ONT to the bridging mode to transparently transmit Ethernet services.
