HiCoins as reward: 0 (problem unresolved)

Hello everyone!

As I already mentioned in the subject, I'd like to know if there is any possibility to prevent the HG8245 or HG8245H ONT from downloading the config from OLT and being provisioned by OLT?

I have custom settings on many devices and providers system change it to some default from time to time. Can I stop this?

Best Regards.

Hello, friend!

Generally, carriers use the NMS to provision configurations to ONTs connected to the OLT.

The ONT cannot prevent receiving the configuration.

If the configuration delivered by the carrier is inconvenient, contact the carrier to stop the provisioning.

Thanks!

Thanks for fast reply. However, I'd like to ask what happens if I manually change the configuration and edit the telecomadmin password. Will they still be able to provision it?

Dear friend!
If you change the password of telecomadmin, click apply and save, it will be valid temporarily. If you do something like restart or factory reset. Ont will synchronize with OLT, and your changes will be invalid.
Thanks!

Many thanks to all of You for these explanations. I am trying to stop the provider from provisioning the device. I asked them to stop it but they said it is hard to change the general configuration etc..

I have one more question. I bought SFP module Huawei HPSP2120 and this is a pure L2 interface. If I ask the provider to add the serial number of this HPSP2120 to their OLT will it work and will it forward all VLANs to the switch or router where it is connected? If yes, this may be the best solution for me.

Best Regards.

Hello, if it works in L2, it cannot forward packets to other VLANs.

Hi,
And I don't need it to do inter VLAN forwarding. I need it to work as a bridge. All other things will be done by the router to which is installed.
Anyone? About the HPSP2120?

Hello, HPSP2120 is the GPON optical module of OLT downlink port. It can normally receive the information sent by ONU. If the OLT configuration data is correct, the device can forward the data to the connected switch and router

Thanks, but I am confused a bit. HPSP2120 should be on ONU side, not OLT?
However, does all this mean I can ask the provider just to add the serial number from HPSP2120 to their OLT and this will work?

What I want to express is that HPSP2120 is a GPON optical module connected to the OLT downstream port

It is usually installed on MA5626 and MA5620 and connected to the opposite OLT.

As long as the ONU (ma5626 or ma5620) has established an optical fiber connection with the OLT, the technicians on the OLT side can manually add the serial number of hpsp2120 to their OLT. Therefore, what you need is attainable

I see. I'd like to install it on H3C and just get access to VLANs. It needs to authorize on OLT and that will be done if the provider add its serial to the system. Am I right?

Do you want to install the HP SP2120 on the H3C router and switch?

You need to contact H3C engineers to check whether their devices support this optical module.

Many thanks my friend. Already tested with H3C switch and its recognized. Just need it to be accepted by OLT. I will try this and get back here if it works so that others can know.
Posted by Spaxton at 2020-08-23 11:02 Anyone? About the HPSP2120?

Dear Spaxton!

1. The hardware SN is displayed on the hardware,

1

but the software SN is displayed on the NMS.

2

They're different.

2. On some ONTs, the PON module is fixed to the main circuit board during production. Therefore, the hardware cannot be changed.

Thanks!

Hello.

Many thanks for the extensive explanations. I asked too many sub-questions as I am still not clear if I can use HPSP2120 SN as a PON SN into the OLT. My PON serial is like HWTCEXXXXXXX or 48575443EXXXXXXX while HPSF2120 inside of the same device is something like 030KMFXXXXXXXXXXXX. In the scenario where I want to use HPSP2120 I will only have its hardware serial... Even if I use huawei switch to divide VLANs, I will not have other serial. Therefore I asked so many sub-questions. To be honest.... still not clear if I can use HPSP2120 SN which starts with 030KMF as a serial to be added to OLT in order to achieve successful GPON authorisation of the device.
Again, many thanks..

Best Regards.

Dear friend,
If a Huawei OLT communicates with a Huawei ONU (the HPSP2120 is used on the ONU side), the OLT can directly discover the ONU or manually add the ONU. The SN registered on the OLT corresponds to the ONU and is forwarded by the HPSP2120. Therefore, the SN to be registered is irrelevant to the SN of the HPSP2120.

Dear friend,
I think the problem you want to solve is the compatibility of the data frame structure between Huawei OLT and the H3C switch. Because the OLT receives and sends a frame structure in a PON form and a GPON form, and the H3C switch receives and sends a data packet in an Ethernet frame structure. I think that's why you can't register.
