Prerequisites for replacing LUNs for SAN storage
On FusionCompute, copy data from logical unit numbers (LUNs) on a storage area network (SAN) device to LUNs on another SAN device and then replace the source LUNs in the system with the target LUNs. A SAN device has two types, IP SAN Device and Fibre Channel (FC) SAN device.
In this section, the source SAN device and its LUNs are called master SAN device and master LUNs, and the target SAN device and its LUNs are called slave SAN device and slave LUNs.
LUN replacement can be performed in the following scenarios:
When no LUNs on the master SAN device are used by VMs, replace all LUNs on the master SAN device with LUNs on the slave SAN device.
When some LUNs on the master SAN device are used by VMs, replace the idle LUNs on the master SAN device with LUNs on the slave SAN device.
If the Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) ID of a LUN changes after a virtual intelligent storage (VIS) device is added to the system, follow operations provided in this section to obtain a new SCSI ID of the LUN.
