Point-to-Point Protocol Over Ethernet (PPPoE) is a network tunneling protocol that encapsulates Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) in the Ethernet framework. Because the protocol integrates the PPP protocol, functions such as identity authentication, encryption, and compression that cannot be provided by the traditional Ethernet are implemented. The protocol system may also be used to provide an access service for a user by using an Ethernet protocol, such as a cable modem (cable modem) and a digital subscriber line (DSL).
PPPoE (Ethernet Point-to-Point Protocol) protocol is a technology for encapsulating PPP frames in Ethernet frames. PPPoE uses a client/server model, eNodeB base station is a PPPoE client, and BRAS (Broadband Remote Access Server) is a PPPoE server.
