PPPoE communication issue in the OLT

Today, I'd like to share a case with you.

Product Model: MA5600T

Problem Description

The PPPoE test fails.

Problem Analysis

1. Perform a PPPoE test on the U2000.

2. The verification on the OLT is successful.

3. Perform the following tests and capture packets on the service port:

4. According to the captured packets, no problem is found.

5. Change the UNI type to WAN on the NMS side.

PPPoE

The test is successful. When PPPoE emulation is performed on the LAN port, the device is connected to the LAN side for dialup. Generally, the VLAN of a device is untagged. In addition, the ONT must be configured to forward packets normally. Otherwise, the simulation fails.

Configure a bridge WAN port on the ONT and bind LAN1 to the bridge WAN port. The simulation is successful.

Root Cause

The PPPoE test configuration is incorrect. The UNI type is incorrect, which should be WAN.

Solution Description

The UNI type is changed from ETH to WAN.
