Hi.

Does anyone know what is logged when a port-sec violation occurs? Documentation is vague and suggest something gets sent to the trapbuffer, but i can't find whatever that is.

Trying to find an easy way to find locked mac addresses on ports where devices have moved.

thanks

Hi Abertay,

On an interface where the number of learned secure MAC addresses reaches the maximum value, the interface sends an alarm when receiving invalid MAC addresses.

For example:

Apr 20 2019 05:12:30-05:13S5700-28C-EI L2IFPPI/4/PORTSEC_ACTION_HAVEMAC_ALARM:OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.315.3.2Interface (26/21) GigabitEthernet0/0/21receive insecure MAC-address, and MAC address is e024-7ffd-33e7,VLAN is 203, the port status is : 1. (1:restrict;2:protect;3:error-down)

You can find the mac address in the alarm.

Hope this helps you.

do you want to apply port security or just see the ports where any port-security violation has occurred?
You can use following document for configuring and setting sticky port security on switches:

Hello Everybody
I have same problem
I configure the Port-security But I can not see the cause of violation in my syslog software, In switch I just see that the port is shut... Nothing else
For example tell me that this Mac wanted to connect to port and causes error disabled...
I even Can not see the different error disabled in Huawei like cisco
Is It possible to tell me that step step configuration and show me the logs? for both error disabled and port-security and other error disabled causes
