Port Forwarding for HUAWEI HG8245H5

Dear Sir,


I have a new optical internet connection from a dealer in Bulgarien.

They use your router HG8245H5.

They have come to me and they have programmed the router to make port forwarding with success.

The problem is that every time how a close the router or the electric power the router loses the port forwarding data.

I have talked with the technology but can't answer me, because for them is a new product this router and they don't know it well.

So I write here to ask for your help.

The log shows that there is only one WAN and the WAN is created by the OLT.


The port mapping is associated with the WAN. The WAN port is lost each time the ONT is restarted or the optical fiber is removed. As a result, the port mapping configuration is lost.

You need to create a WAN port on the ONT and bind the port mapping to the WAN port on the ONT. In this way, the port mapping configuration will not be lost after you restart the device and remove the optical fiber.

In the navigation tree on the left, choose Advanced Configuration > WAN Configuration. In the pane on the right, click New. In the dialog box that is displayed, set Mode to Route WAN.

This is the WAN issued by the OLT. You need to create a WAN on the ONT WebUI and bind the WAN created on the ONT during port mapping configuration. In this way, the configuration will not be lost after each restart.

This parameter needs to be configured based on the service plan of the OLT. I do not know the service plan of the OLT. You can consult the ISP to obtain related parameters.

This is a simple operation, But I don't understand why your ISP doesn't understand.


To configure the WAN on the HG8245H5, perform the following steps:


Log in to the device WebUI using the administrator account and password.


In the navigation tree on the left, choose Advanced Configuration > WAN Configuration. In the pane on the right, click New


ONT WAN


Click Advanced Configuration > Forward Rules tab, and choose IPv4 Port Mapping. In the dialog box that is displayed, set the parameters related to port mapping


Select the WAN configured on the WebUI when configuring port forwarding.


ONT



After the preceding configuration is complete, your problem is resolved.
