Hi sachandio,
Today, most data transfers take place over traditional copper cables, which are very power-intensive, resulting in a trade-off between data exchange and energy consumption. Fiber optic cables are an alternative, but they don't work well with the silicon chips in our computing systems. Polymer cables take advantage of copper wire and optical fiber while eliminating their drawbacks. The cable is thinner and lighter than copper, has data transfer speeds comparable to fiber optic cables, and is compatible with silicon chips.
