Hello everyone,

I have a very curious question because we all know that AP can use POE to supply power to the device, and POE power is supplied through the network cable.

What I want to know is when using the network cable for power supply, is the same network cable as usual? What core is used?

Does anyone know the reason? Thanks!

Hello@Amedcary,

The POE power supply and the network cable used are the same, but when using the POE power supply, the number of copper cores is different.

At present, Huawei ap power supply is powered by 1, 2, 3, 6 or 4, 5, 7, and 8 cores. Huawei POE switches or AC controllers are powered by 1, 2, 3, and 6 cores to connect to the PD and supply power At the same time, it is possible to run data.

Glad to help you! Any further questions, let us know.
