please note that CE6810LI switch almost don't support L3 function

first, I prefer to tell all that Actually, CE6810LI is just a layer2 switch, it just has a poor layer 3 function,

CE6810LI couldn’t do the routing like other models, The layer 3 function is just implemented by ACL technology. So the performance is not good, and also has lots of risks.

Currently we only suggest using layer 3 function for management service rather than for business service. Below is the configuration note in our product documentation:

Feature Dependencies and Limitations

·        The device does not support fragmentation and reassembly of forwarded data packets based on the MTU.

·        In versions earlier than V100R005C10, the CE6810LI does not support IPv4 Layer 3 forwarding. After the IPv4 function is enabled on an interface of the CE6810LI, the configured IPv4 address can only be used to manage the switch. In V100R005C10 and later versions, it is recommended that the CE6810LI not be used for Layer 3 forwarding of IPv4 packets.

·        The CE5810EI, CE5850EI, CE5850HI, CE5855EI, CE6810LI, CE6810EI, and CE6850EI do not support Layer 3 forwarding of IPv4 packets in which the IP header contains the option field.

Huawei issued a bulletin to advertise the below information:

Constraint 2:

Layer 3 functions of the CE6810LI can only be used for device management, and cannot be used for Layer 3 service traffic forwarding.

Description:

The forwarding chip of the CE6810LI does not support Layer 3 functions. The switch uses ACLs to implement basic Layer 3 functions for in-band management. However, ACL resources are limited and cannot be used to implement Layer 3 functions for services.

The CE6810LI does not support VPN deployment at Layer 3.
