Hi all,

Please need your help.

I got information from my customer, he found an issue when he tests ping from cisco router C2901 to Huawei switch S5720-28X-PWR-LI-AC. There is a packet drop if the test ping more than 45 times and the packet drop have the same pattern. But, test ping from Huawei to Cisco is normal, with no packet loss. These below are the result of test PING from the customer :


ping10.xx.xx.2 repeat 100

Type escape sequence to abort.

Sending 100, 100-byte ICMP Echos to10.160.52.2, timeout is 2 seconds:

Success rate is 98 percent (98/100),round-trip min/avg/max = 1/1/4 ms

Hello,

This is caused by Cisco fast ping. We have the CPU-defend on the switch to protect our device.  And the ICMP car value doesn't meet the so fast speed

By default, the CIR value for user-defined flows is 64 kbit/s. You can run the display cpu-defend configuration command to check the CAR values for protocol packets.

You can adjust the CIR value to a t to bigger value, such as 256 or 512 etc.
