Hello everyone,


I have two question and I hope I can get a clarification:


1) How ping packet works between two PCs connected in the same network (L2)

2) How ping packet works between two PCs connected in different network (L3)

Hi friend!
If they are on a Layer 2 network, they can send ICMP-Request and ICMP-Respons packets to each other after sending ARP packets to each other. If the network is an L3 network, the gateway needs to search the routing table for communication.
