Hi,
IETF Diff-Serv workgroup defines forwarding behaviors of network nodes as per-hop behaviors (PHB), such as, traffic scheduling and policing. A device in the network should select the proper PHB behaviors, based on the value of DSCP. At present, the IETF defines four types of PHB. They are class selector (CS), expedited forwarding (EF), assured forwarding (AF), and best-effort (BE).

@chenhui Thanks very well explained, A device in the network should select the proper PHB behaviors, based on the value of DSCP.----->but what action will be applied corresponding to DSCP? for example if DSCP value is 40/46 means EF then which queue will be selected?

Dear Kunthea!

The Per-Hop Behavior (PHB) defines the policy and priority applied to a packet when traversing a hop (such as a DS) in a DiffServ network.

Best wishes!

@LilStylz237 what action will be applied corresponding to DSCP? is there any default list of PHB action corresponding to different DSCP value ?
