[PDAC March Mission] We Need Your Optimization Suggestions Regarding the Website's Tools Module! Activity

Introduction
 
The Tools module of the Huawei enterprise support website provides numerous small tools, which are displayed as cards and can be used in different scenarios. However, this makes it difficult for users to obtain desired tools when they search in the module. To optimize the search experience and improve work efficiency, Huawei documentation experts are initiating a revision project for the Tools module.
 
 
Revision Solution
 
Before:
The card display mode offers numerous tool options, making it difficult for users to obtain their targets.

(The original Tools module)
After (User feedback will be considered):
1. Display mode icons will be added. Users will be able to switch to the list view. (The card view is the default mode.)

2. In the list view, users will be able to select an application scenario and visit the corresponding details page where the products supported by each tool are displayed.
3. Users will be able to view tool permissions, recommend tools, and add tools to Favorites.
4. Users will be able to click Export to download the offline tool map.

How to Participate
 
1. Provide feedback on your experience and any possible issues that arise when using the original Tools module.
2. Provide comments regarding the preceding revision solution, including the reasons why you think the solution is effective or ineffective.
3. Provide optimization suggestions. Recommend links to similar tool websites that are easy to use, and provide recommendation reasons.
 
Bonus Points
 
1. Participants will receive 80 bonus points.
2. Participants whose suggestions are accepted by Huawei documentation experts will receive 80 extra bonus points.
3. Those who provide outstanding contributions to the revision project will receive gratitude letters from Huawei documentation experts.

Wow..its simply superb...

I have gone thorugh Complete article ..As per my understanding : Praposed Tool version is user friendly with enhanced features and best parts is tools for specific application schenario

it will be helpful for user to go in specific tab in spite of searching entire page  and understanding the tool as per requirment

another one , the user who searches the tool for particular application got more related tools for future use ..and more ideas about similar tools

Permission is also a big concern as whenever we tried to download the tools , we got status at that moment only without wasting further time

at last one more good feature to save offline tools details ..anyone can check from anywhere about the desired tools ...without internet

really impressive ..keep it up :)

Hi,

As I use some of these tools, upcoming changes sound very promising especially dividing all tools in respective category of Enterprise Network,DC, Intelligent Computing etc. Another promising feature will be this export feature that is being added. This is will really help the guys in field.

There are couple of more suggestions if they can be looked into:

1. If there could be a comment box/suggestion box available for the tools as Huawie is introducing many new products regularly but these products don't get updated on the tools very regularly. So, we can add a suggestion in the comment box to add those specific product.
2. These tools are not very mobile friendly as someone who is searching for tool on phone, it is very difficult to do that. It should also be considered to optimize it.

This tool itself looks very promising and these additions will make it further better and easy to use.

Here is my feedback:

1. The tool interface should filter by name A-Z
2. All related tools should add into one category for example: create DT Tool and add Probe & Probe Assistant under DT Tool or planning tool should add only one category and move all related tool (U2000 Planning Assistant, U2000 Upgrade Planning Assistant, GNEX ) into that one etc.;
3. Show up favorite tools at the top of view
4. Show up rate on each tools
5. Each tools should have their own software link and help

Hello PDAC,
It's a great activity!

I find this tools a great helper for all Huawei partners. We were very happy when it tools appeared a few years ago. The great news is that you move forward and develop tools.

My suggestions and feedback:
- You need to add sorting options or quick search
- Be able to use this tools on own mobile devices (required screeen/display optimization)
- I'd like to see related items of tools will be add into to the same category or part.

My fedeeback:

The option to choose tools by application and scenario is a great feature offered by Huawei. People who are in different scenarios, for example, planning and design, installation and updating, configuration and commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting ... They will be able to choose the tool according to their needs.
To configuration and Troubleshooting, i commonly used the Hedex tool. I am part of a company that is a partner of Huawei and I support several customers. Most of the time the customer's problem is solved with links from Hedex. I think it is an important tool for all network engineers and IT professionals.

My suggestion:

ENSP believes that it is very limited in the variety of equipment, it does not allow us to handle many equipment at the same time. Another problem I see is that the settings that the software allows us to make are also quite limited. If this is corrected or improved, I believe that it will make the day-to-day life of network engineers working with Huawei and the futures that I will come to work a lot easier for.


I would very much like to use the "info-finder" tool but this tool does not have the NE40E-M2 Series router series. Today in Brazil small and medium providers use this Router a lot in their networks
