point 1: In what modes can users log in to TE series endpoints and TX50? ![]()
You can use the remote control UI, web management system, or SSH/Telnet to log in to TE series endpoints and TX50 for configuration.
The endpoint supports the Telnet login and Security Shell (SSH) login. Telnet is an insecure protocol. SSH is a cyber security protocol for remote access using the encryption and authentication mechanism in an insecure cyber environment. During SSH login, all user data is encrypted. To ensure the security, you are advised to use the SSH login.
l You can log in to the endpoint through port 23 using Telnet. Telnet login is set to Do not allow by default.
Telnet is an insecure communication protocol. You are advised to disable it. If you want to log in using Telnet, see Performing SSH Access Control.
l You can log in to the endpoint through port 22 using SSH. SSH is set to Do not allow by default.
Knowledge point 2: What are the TE series endpoints? ![]()
The TE series endpoint includes TE10, TE20, TE30, TE40, TE50 and TE60.
Knowledge point 3: How to log in to TE series using SSH?
1. Open SSH.
On the TE series web interface, choose System Settings > Security > SSH/Telnet and set SSH or Telnet login to Enable.
2. Run PuTTY on your computer.
3. In the Session window, enter the endpoint IP address, for example, 10.10.10.1, in the Host Name (or IP address) field,

4. Select SSH for Connection type. Use the default value for Port.
5. Click Open.
The login window is displayed.
6. Enter the user name and password.

The user names and passwords of TE series endpoints and TX50 versions are the same. The versions of TE series endpoints and TX50 are as follows:
l TE10/TE20: V500R003 and V600R019
l TE30/TE60: V500R002, V600R006, and V600R019
l TE40/TE50: V100R001, V500R002, V600R006, and V600R019
l TX50: V100R003, V500R002, V600R006, and V600R019

should I do if I forget the password? ![]()
Do not worry. You can reset the
password to the default password by restoring the factory settings.
You can restore the factory settings of the TE10/TE20 in either of the following two ways:
l When the TE10/TE20 is running properly, use the tip of a pen (or similar) to press and hold the RST button in the pinhole, on the rear panel of the TE10/TE20 for 10s.
l Log in to the web interface of the TE10/TE20, choose System Settings > Installation, and click Restore Default.
Note: If Retain IP is selected, after you restore your endpoint to factory settings, you will find that its IP address remains unchanged.
You can restore the factory settings of the TE30/TE40/TE50/TE60/TX50 in either of the following ways:
TE30 Normal System
When the endpoint is operating properly, press and hold theMODE button for 10 seconds or more to restore the endpoint to its default settings.
TE40&TE50&TE60&TX50 Normal System
When the endpoint is operating properly, press and hold theRESET button for 10 seconds or more to restore the endpoint to its default settings.
TE30 Mini System
1. While the endpoint is restarting or powering on, press and hold the MODE button for 10 seconds or more.
The endpoint enters the mini system.
2. In mini system, press and hold the MODE button for 10 seconds or more to restore the Telnet login password to its default settings.
TE40&TE50&TE60&TX50 Mini System
1. While the endpoint is restarting or powering on, press and hold the RESET button for 10 seconds or more.
The endpoint enters the mini system.
2. In mini system, press and hold the RESET button for 10 seconds or more to restore the Telnet login password to its default settings.
