Part 2 – Huawei CLOUD Networking Services
With the deployment of Infrastructure on the cloud, there is also a requirement of integration with other setups i.e. Local datacenter, remote offices, VPCs, or Customer locations.
In this article for networking services, we will learn how networks construct connects with other architecture and work.
Huawei CLOUD Networking Service
Huawei cloud has a very extensive list of networking services including VPC, VPN, DNS, gateways & interconnects.
We have discussed the first four topics (VPC, Elastic IP, NAT Gateway & DNS) in the last article, (https://forum.huawei.com/enterprise/en/networking-services-of-huawei-cloud-everything-you-need-to-know-part-1/thread/700801-893 ) and now we will deep dive for remaining services.

VPN (Virtual Private Network)
Virtual Private Network, it creates a secure, encrypted communication tunnel between data center, remote offices, client devices, and VPC on Cloud.

A flexible and scalable hybrid cloud environment can be built using a VPN service.
Component of VPN

• VPN Gateway
It is an egress gateway of a VPC. A secure & reliable gateway can be created for encrypted connection between a VPC and corporate DC or between VPCs in other regions
The VPN gateway works together with the remote gateway in the local data center. Each local data center must have a remote gateway, and each VPC must have a VPN gateway. The VPN service allows you to set up point-to-point VPN connections or VPN connections from one point to multiple points. A VPN gateway can connect to one or more remote gateways.

• Remote Gateway
A gateway in an on-premises data center. The gateway must have a fixed public IP address. Otherwise, the VPN connection will fail.
• VPN Connection
A connection between VPN gateway and the remote gateway (in a local data center) uses the Internet-based IPsec encryption technology to establish a tunnel for secure and reliable communication.
A cost-effective solution (IKE and IPsec protocols) to encrypt and safely transmit data over the Internet.

2. Direct Connect
With the deployment of Infrastructure on the cloud, there is also a requirement of integration with other Local datacenter or Customer locations.
Direct Connect is a high-speed, low-latency, stable, and secure dedicated network connection that connects the local data center to a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) on HUAWEI CLOUD.
