Hello,

I have a switch:

-          HUAWEI S6720-32C-PWH-SI

-          Version 5.170 (S6720 V200R011C10SPC600)

I obtain the following logs when we are doing backups:

Dec  1 2020 16:19:23+01:00 SWHW-SEU1 %IFPDT/4/PKT_OUTDISCARD_NL(l)[5]:Interface output discard restored to the log threshold. (Interface=MultiGE0/0/23, Statistics=38285, LogThreshold=300, LogInterval=300(s),PortQueueNumber=0, PortQueuePassed=389166347, PortQueueDropped=38285, PortQueueNumber=1, PortQueuePassed=9433, PortQueueDropped=0,PortQueueNumber=2, PortQueuePassed=0, PortQueueDropped=0, PortQueueNumber=3, PortQueuePassed=0, PortQueueDropped=0,PortQueueNumber=4, PortQueuePassed=164, PortQueueDropped=0, PortQueueNumber=5, PortQueuePassed=0, PortQueueDropped=0,PortQueueNumber=6, PortQueuePassed=1281052, PortQueueDropped=0, PortQueueNumber=7, PortQueuePassed=830265, PortQueueDropped=0)

The log shows that packet loss occurs on g0/0/23 and g0/0/24. Can I do something to avoid those discards? Where is the threshold? Do I must enable flow control?

Thanks.

Hello,
If a small number of packets are discarded due to congestion and services are not affected,  you can ignore it. If required, try to configure a load-balance profile and apply the load-balance enhanced profile to Eth-Trunk 0.

Refer to the link: load-balance

In addition, since all outbound traffic of Eth-Trunk0 is sent from XGE0/0/1, it is recommended that Eth-Trunk0 be replaced with a XGE interface.
