I'm getting pretty sick of this. I had a spare UNOPENED, UNTOUCHED P20 Huawei, the regular version out of the box (From when my dad signed an agreement 6 months ago) and as soon as I started typing, my keyboard would close.
So, I thought I was accidentally pressing one of the 3 buttons on the bottom (Back, Home, Tasks). Naturally, I went to the options and disabled them, and made the fingerprint button to do that job for them (You hold the fingerprint, it brings you to the home screen, one quick press is for back and sliding left/right brings up tasks) This was way easier and more convenient. However, when I would start typing again, the keyboard would just close IN THE MIDDLE OF A WORD, randomly. This time I wasn't pressing anything accidentally. Note that this was STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. I didn't install or update anything, I was searching on google or on the play store. I literally have 5 apps on it and it still does this. I uninstalled the SwiftKeyboard, cos I thought this was the problem and tried the google one. Same problem. I've had my phone opened for 2 weeks now, it's all updated to the latest software because I thought this would fix it. Nope, still the same shenanigan. I've had a Sony Xperia Z5 for the last 5 YEARS and I replaced it now because the Huawei phone was bought by my father and no one was using it. So, I thought I'd open it and use it because 5 years for a smartphone is too much. My Sony didn't have any problems, but I wanted a new phone. Apparently, my Sony is still better. I'm switching back to my old Sony and If you have any suggestions, then I'm willing to try them and try to fix this problem. Still, all of them every second-day updates, the immediate slowness of the phone COMPARED TO A 5-YEAR-OLD SONY XPERIA Z5, is just too much for me, so I think I'll be switching back anyways and indefinitely. The only better thing Huawei has is the better and bigger fingerprint scanner and the camera A BIT, and that's pretty much it. But, in 2014, Sony's fingerprint scanner was revolutionary, so there's that. This is not an advertisement, this is an outraged customer complaining about a new phone.
That being said, I'm never buying anything Huawei ever again. To be disappointed like this is just plain silly. Save up and get your Samsung, fellers, it'll be worth it in the end, because that's what I'll be doing. And If you think I'm wrong, well maybe I am, but this was my first ever impression of Huawei. I was skeptical to try out anything from Huawei in the past, and it turns out I was right.
