OSPF Reference Bandwidth for 100G----Eth-Trunk not changing its cost

  Rewarded HiCoins: 0 (problem resolved)

Hi I am configuring OSPF in switches which is forming a ring network. All the ports which are interconnected with switch are LACP(Eth-Trunk ports) with 50Gig bundle.

In ospf default cost above 100MB port it takes value as 1

so to change the behaviour i have configured a reference-bandwidth of 100000(100G). Now i am able to see the cost consider by ospf as 100 for 10G port.

But for LACP port of 50Gig its also considering OSPF COST as 100...Problem is if any of my LACP port get down the cost of OSPF remains same.while i have other path which is of higher capacity traffic wont shift on to that port.

I am having Huawei-6720-EI switch in the network. i wont to have Eth-Trunk cost to be change if it speed get lower capacity so that ospf path will also get changed.

Thanks in Advance.

Hi dkd_nvs,
If you do not want the cost of an Eth-Trunk interface to change with the interface bandwidth, run the ospf cost command to set a fixed cost for the Eth-Trunk interface.

I want OSPF cost to be changing as per Eth-trunk bundle capacity. If Eth-trunk is of 50G then cost should be according to 50G. If any one port is down of Eth-trunk and now its capacity is reduced to 40G then its cost should also be changed so that if any other path with 50G of capacity traffic will shift on that path.

Currently it's not working its considering 50G, 40G, 30G also cost to be 100 only. I have configured reference bandwidth of 100000 in all ospf running switches.

COST is not changing for Eth-Trunk port is the concern...COST remains same if Eth-Trunk interface is of 50G or 40 or 30G.

And so best part is not chosen by OSPF.
