HiCoins as reward: 0 (problem unresolved)

I guys.

Is it possible use ospf with a peer that is reached using ip address sub?

I have tried to do this, but when the ip address is a ip address sub, it doesn't work.

I am using SW 6730.

Hi@gilberto_milhomem,
OSPF cannot be used with the IP address sub. In OSPF, a neighbor relationship cannot be established by using the secondary IP address; instead, a neighbor relationship can be established only by using the primary address of an interface. If the network to which the secondary IP address belongs is added to the OSPF configuration, however, the corresponding route can be advertised.

Glad to help you! Any further questions, let us know.

Hi hope below can help:

1. Run the display ospf peer command on the device to check OSPF neighbor information.
2. If no OSPF neighbor information is displayed, check whether the physical status and protocol status of interfaces on both ends are Up and stable and whether the interfaces have lost or error packets.
3. If the two devices can ping each other successfully but no OSPF neighbor information is displayed, check whether OSPF is running normally on the local interface.
4. Check that correct OSPF parameters have been configured for interfaces on both ends

As far as I know, OSPF cannot establish neighbor relationships with secondary IP addresses.
