Ospf fast convergence recomendation

Scenario: Ring using ospf, ldp and bgp l2vpn.

Desired: Fastest posible peer down detection

Devides: S6720

Options: ospf bfd, OSPF Smart-discover, ospf hello timers

I'd prefer BFD, it's easier to understand and implement.

by the way, it's not recommanded to lower the hello interval, though this could help detect the link failure, but it will cost more bandwidth, and this won't help ospf reroute effectively.

for example, when set hello interval to 1s, what if the link turns to down after the router receives the hello packet, this won't help router notice the link faiule immediately.

Thanks all , got excellent convergence time with bfd on path failure detection and ospf p2p interfaces for fast neighbor establishment on path recover.
