HiCoins as reward: 0 (problem unresolved)
I am having an issue regarding OSN 9800 U32.
I have comissioned U32 using the NM port.it was comissioned successfully.it is a new node and is GNE.we got allocation from ISP to connect it with that allocation to bring it online on NCE. I have laid an FE between GNE and the allocation provided. I have tested the FE cable its fine. After laying the cable i have connected it with my laptop and try to ping the gateway . The ping was sucessfull which means the transmission media is clear but when i connect that FE on the NM port of OSN 9800 U32 ,physically the port doesn't go up.and the same FE is working with my laptop.plus it also works on the other ports like FE port and GE1 and GE2 port. I hope the scenario is clear can any one help me out thanks

Dear friend!

The FE port on the OptiX OSN 9800 U32 is reserved and has no function at present.

Dear friend!
You mean that the ISP provides you with an FE channel to connect your NMS and GNE. You can ping the GNE through the FE channel through the PC, but the NMS cannot communicate with the GNE. Is that the case?

Thank you!

Communication is the second stage . The NM port physically stays down when i connect the FE to it

Is the FE channel provided by the ISP with a bandwidth of 100 Mbit/s?

I don't know what you're referring to as FE.

I am referring FE as ethernet cable. At one end i am using electrical sfp 1.25G and the other end is the one i am trying to connect it to OSN9800 u32

You can also check to see if they have the same speed mode.

Hi there!
The M12 uses the E3CTU board. The NM port of the M12 board supports the 1000M/100M auto-negotiation mode.
The NM interface of the U32 works in 100 Mbit/s auto-negotiation mode.
They're different.
When the NMS is connected to the U32 through network cables, the port modes at both ends must be the same.
Thank you!
