Today, I'd like to share a case with you.
Problem Description
OSN 1800 V add new modules in existing Universal Line Boards (Z5UNQ2) and we tested both links separately with success but every time we configure the test with the node as transit or switch node, the Packet traffic fails to pass between the two line interface of the OSN 1800V
Problem Analysis
We made several test between just OSN 9800 U210 and OSN 1800 V UNQ2 interfaces, we connect 10GE measurement equipment in E212 boards of the OSN 9800 with a PWE3 service configure and loop the Virtual port of the UNQ2 board in the OSN 1800 V, the service test was perform successful without error
When we try to perform the same test but passing through the OSN 1800 V from OSN 9800 to OSN 9800 (OSN 9800 U210 - OSN 1800 UNQ2 - OSN 9800 U210) with PWE3 service configure from E212 to E212 board of both OSN 9800, with loopback in the remote OSN 9800 the test fail with LOS LOF.
After trying with different configuration we find out that LFS Status ON does not allow the MAC Loop work, after we change the LFS status to OFF, the measurement equipment connected in the E212 of OSN 9800 clear the LOS and LOF alarm and perform the test successfully.
Root Cause
OSN 9800 LFS Status ON does not allow MAC Loop to work
Solution Description
Turn OFF LFS status to enable MAC Loop.
