Hello,
Today, I would like to share with you this topic which describes how to solve the interconnection problem of OptiX PTN 960 & Cisco router 10G.
Fault description
Configure the E-LAN service on the PTN network element and connect through the 10GE fiber Cisco router. The 10GE port of the PTN device reports the ETH_LOS alarm, indicating that when the port receives the signal, the Cisco router has not triggered the protection switching of the service, and the service has not passed the protection channel. Receive service interrupted.
Fault operation steps
1- View the current alarm, and find that the PTN network element reports the ETH_LOS alarm, indicating that the send signal from the peer router cannot be received.
2- Check the E-LAN service configuration on the PTN network element. The PW is running normally and the split horizon group configuration is correct.
3- Calculate the current performance of the interrupted 10GE link on the PTN network element, and find that the "performance value" of the "received power" is zero, while the "luminous power" is still counted.
4- Check the port statistics of the Cisco router and find that the receive count is not zero and the send count is zero. From this, it is judged that the 10GE link is a single-pass fault. Because the 10GE port does not support the "auto-negotiation" mode of operation, the direction of sending and receiving does not affect each other. Although the service is single-passed, as long as the peer router can receive a small number of packets, it will not trigger protection switching, resulting in one-way service interruption.
5- Perform forced switching on the Cisco router to switch services to the protection channel, and the services return to normal.
6- Check the actual fiber connection. After replacing the faulty fiber, switch the service back to the original 10GE link. The service is normal.
