OptiX OSN9800 DAPXF board generating the HARD_BAD and OA_LOW_GAIN alarms

Latest reply: Jun 20, 2019 07:06:18 1880 8 13 0 1

1. HARD_BAD alarm parameter 0x15 0x09 0x00 0xff 0xff 0xff.

2. OA_LOW_GAIN is generated at T_OUT.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The HARD_BAD alarm is generated when the system detects a hardware failure. Based on the alarm parameter, the information is as follows:

Parameter 1 = 0x15: Other faults occur

Parameter 2 = 0x09, parameter 3 = 0x00: indicate an EDFA module on T subcard is faulty.

Due to the EDFA module on Transmit (T) subcard is faulty, the HARD_BAD alarm is followed by OA_LOW_GAIN alarm on the T_OUT port of the T subcard.

It is suspected that the EDFA module is faulty and malfunctioning.

Please clarify when this thing happen, do we need to replace the whole DAPXF card, or only replace the faulty pluggable optical modules (T subcard)?

hi Arban, you need to replace the DAPXF card.
If the module is in poor contact, remove and reinstall the module. If the hardware is damaged, replace the hardware.
