This time, I will share with you a case about alarms are reported for multiple services due to board faults.
Problem Description
The customer reported several ODUflex services have abnormal alarms on OptiX OSN 9800 M24.
Alarm Information

Handling Process
1.Check NE alarms on the trail based on the service direction. It is found that an N402 board on the service trail reports HARD_BAD and COMMUN_FAIL alarms.


2.Check other service paths. It is found that the services that report the alarm all pass through the N402 board.
3.No abnormal alarm was reported on other boards on the trail. Therefore, it was determined that the N402 board was faulty.
4. After a warm reset and a cold reset, the alarm persists.
5. After the board is replaced, the alarm is cleared.
Root Cause
Hardware fault.
Solution
Replace the board.
Summary
When the board reports the HARD_BAD alarm. If the alarm persists after the board is cold restarted, please replace the board.
