I would like to share with you an issue about loss of signals at the OTS layer (OTS_LOS_P alarm).
Description
Loss of signals (payload) at the OTS layer. This alarm is generated when the OA board or other boards connected to the transmit port of the FIU detects the LOS signals.
Condition:
A user is commissioning a new optical fiber link between 2 NEs ROADM (OSN 8800 T32).
Symptom:
The OTS_LOS_P alarm appears on the FIU board in one of the 2 sites.

Impact:
Services are not affected if this alarm is caused by incorrect fiber connections. If this alarm is caused by other causes, services are interrupted.
Severity
Critical
Root Cause
1. The logical fiber connection is not consistent with the actual physical fiber connection.
2. Modify the logical fiber connection to make it consistent with the actual physical fiber connection.
Finally, OTS_LOS_P alarm clears and service is restored.
