[OptiX OSN 500] WRG_BD_TYPE alarm in SL1D Highlighted

Hi,

Description

Condition:

We have changed the SL1D sub-board (Slot 8) of the ISU board (TNH1ISUC05) via software (logical method) through “U2000 NE Panel” for the SL4D sub-board. 

Symptom:

The WRG_BD_TYPE (0x08 0xff 0xff 0xff 0xff) appear in SL1D sub-board (Slot 8) for the ISU main board (Slot 2). 

The ISU “board version” is TNH1ISUC and the “feature code” is TNH1ISUC05.

Impact:

When we have changed again the SL4D sub-board (Slot 8) of the ISU board (TNH1ISUC05) for the SL1D, we can see that logical board in U2000 is shown as SL1D, but appear WRG_BD_TYPE alarm.

In NAVIGATOR, we have inserted the following commands:

:cfg-get-board

:cfg-get-phybd

and we have seen that the SL4D sub-board appears as physical, but the SL1D sub-card as logical.

Severity:

Mayor  

Root Cause:

1. The U2000 supports changing the rate of a multi-rate board from a low rate to a high rate, but does not support changing the rate of a board from a high rate to a low rate.

2. Command line cfg-set-phybd:bid,bdtype failed to change the physical board type. The parameter "dangerous" needs to be added.

Solution:

1. Run the cfg-set-phybd:8,sl1d,"dangerous" command to change the physical board type, for example:

After the command  you will see the modification is successful. Then you can add logical SL1D board on the NMS, the board can be identified and no WRG_BD_TYPE alarm is reported.

The cfg-set-phybd:8,sl1d,"dangerous" board is used to change the physical board type from SL1D to SL4D or from SL4D to SL1D. When the board does not carry any service, the SL1D and SL4D boards can be replaced with each other, and then the logical board can be modified.

Conclusion -> The solution worked successfully!!
