Hello, everyone!
In this post, I would like to share with you about optimizing the ECC.
In the customer's network, we can often see the chain topology like this:

In the case of setting ECC, auto mode is generally used. This setup is convenient, but additional links are created and resource utilization is not high. The auto mode is generally applicable to a chain network with less than 4 NEs. If there are more than 4 NEs, it will report the COM_EXTECC_FULL alarm, which may cause network security risks.
Therefore, ECC optimization needs to be performed on the chain network in the existing network. NE1 is used as the gateway NE to query the port number (1601) and IP address (172.30.27.148).
Modify the ECC configuration for NE2-NE5:
1. Modify the ECC mode of each NE to the specified mode.
2. Configure the client IP address and port number in the ECC management of each NE.

NE2-NE5 configuration

Because the modified network element automatically expands the ECC mode to the specified mode, the modified network element will be removed. So, it is recommended that the last site of the chain network be modified one by one so that the unmodified network element will not be removed.
When planning the customer network, if the level network element is greater than or equal to 4 NEs, it is necessary to establish the extended ECC according to the specified mode and specify the server and the client, so that the link is reliable, the bandwidth utilization is high, and there is no network security problem.
That's all, I hope you like it.
Thank you!
