Optical vs Electrical Subracks

What is the difference between optical sub racks and electrical subracks? Is there no electrical backplane in optical subracks ? I am confused

Optical-layer subracks are used to install optical-layer boards, and electrical-layer subracks are used to install electrical-layer boards.
Optical-layer boards include optical multiplexer and demultiplexer boards, optical add/drop multiplexer boards, optical amplifier boards, optical supervisory channel boards, optical protection boards, optical spectrum analysis boards, optical variable attenuation boards, and optical power and dispersion equalization boards. They are used to process optical-layer services. Supports optical-layer grooming based on and levels.
Electrical-layer boards include tributary boards, packet boards, and line boards. They process electrical-layer signals and perform optical-to-optical conversion.

Electrical-layer subracks can also house optical-layer boards. That is, electrical-layer subracks can be used as optical-layer subracks. However, single-layer boards, such as the OptiX OSN 9800 UPS, cannot be installed in optical-layer subracks.
In a special case, electrical-layer boards can be installed in optical-layer subracks when electrical signal cross-connection grooming is not required. For example, when line boards are used as regeneration boards, electrical-layer boards can be installed in optical-layer subracks.

Please find below the difference between Electrical & Optical Subracks.

Electrical Subrack:
An electrical subrack houses only cross- connect boards, OTU boards, tributary boards, line boards, or protection boards.
Electrical subracks include universal platform subracks that house only OTU boards in non-regeneration mode, and optical/electrical hybrid subracks.

An electrical subrack converts client- side signals into standard-wavelength optical signals for grooming implemented by an optical subrack.

Optical Subrack:
An optical subrack houses only OADM boards, multiplexer boards, demultiplexer boards, optical amplifier boards, OSC boards, optical spectrum analyzer boards, OLP boards used for optical line protection, regeneration boards, or OTU boards in regeneration mode.
A subrack equipped with only protection boards is an optical subrack.

An optical subrack grooms and manages optical signals on an OTN.
