Today, I'd like to share a case with you.
Problem Description
After the OSN580 is powered on at a site, the receive and transmit optical power cannot be queried on the NMS after the optical port is looped back.
Problem Analysis
1. Configuration to start 15min and 24 hours performance monitor.
2. Enable the optical port, get the R-Los alarm, but it's clear after a few seconds,still can't get receive and transmit optical power.
3. Check the path cord and attenuator change a new one.
4. Disable optical laser auto shutdown.
5. Querying the Manufacture Information of a Laser confirm the laser was multi-mode.
6. Confirm the patch cord module was single-mode.
7. Change the patch cord to multi-mode.
Root Cause
The optical signale and patch cord mismatch.
Solution Description
Confirm the optical module model then select patch cord based on the optical module model.
