Hello, everyone.

In this post, I would like to share with you about IPA.

The optical amplifiers (OAs) have high output optical power. If the fiber connecting to the OA breaks, the OA will still emit light if the laser on the amplifier is not shut down. The intense light will cause injuries to maintenance personnel during fiber maintenance. To prevent personal injuries, the intelligent power adjustment (IPA) function promptly shuts down lasers on the affected OAs if the fiber breaks.

WDM equipment uses the following safety mechanisms to prevent personal injuries and equipment damage:

To prevent IPA from staying at Disabled, users can set Auto Disabling Time(min) so that IPA Status of IPA can change to Enabled after the specified time elapses. Auto Disabling is not configurable and is consistently Enabled. Auto Disabling Time(min) can be specified manually and it ranges from 1 to 60. If users do not manually set Auto Disabling Time(min), the default value 60 is used.

Only "Operator Group" authority or higher users can operate the IPA function.
