Hi guys,

Is there a way to use an optical module non-huawei-certified in a CE6851-48S6Q-HI switch? If no, is there any firmware version that enables to use the optical module FTLX8571D3BCVIT1 (https://www.serversupply.com/NETWORKING/TRANSCEIVER/10 GIGABIT/INTEL/FTLX8571D3BCVIT1.htm)

I'm using VRP (R) software, Version 8.100 (CE6851HI V100R005C10SPC200) with Patch Version: V100R005SPH007.

Thanks!

Best way to find out is to try! Normally the optical modules of other vendors work with the switches. There will be an alarm generated. Also it is possible that you will have problems with TAC wheen the is a fault, because they are not support ofiffically.

Hello,

The S2700/3700/5700/6700 can use only the certified optical modules. If an uncertified optical module is used, an error may occur and Huawei is not responsible for it.
To disable non-Huawei-certified optical module alarms, run the transceiver non-certified-alarm disable command.
<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] transceiver non-certified-alarm disable
