Huawei AR129CGVW-L


ISSUE DESCRIPTION


I have a Mikrotik routerboard connected to my AR129CGVW-L. CCTV DVR is connected to Mikrotik. The route in Mikrotik is configured and can access AR129CGVW-L, but I cannot ping the Mikrotik from AR129CGVW-L.I also need to forward the port to the DVR so it can be accessible outside.


I appreciate any help related to the open port on AR129CGVW-L. Thanks!

Hello! 

It would be great if you could provide some extra details concerning the fault. I would like to enquire on the following points though:

1. What's the topology of the network? Mikrotik and Huawei routers are directly connected? 


2. I understand you can't ping Mikrotik from AR. How about the AR router from Mikrotik, can you ping it? 

3. Are you able to see the MAC address of the Mikrotik router being learned on the interface of the AR?
 
Please refer to the following command to finish this step:

display mac-address g0/0/1 \\\ use the interface number that connects to the Mikrotik.

Please see some additional details below:

4. Check whether there is an ARP entry learning on AR for the Mikrotik router.

5. Can you share the configuration of Huawei and Mikrotik? You can mask the private information.

Please note that GE0/0/0 to GE0/0/3 on AR129CGVW-L can be changed from Layer 2 mode to Layer 3 mode.
Login to AR and run below command :

[Huawei] interface G0/0/1
[Huawei-Ethernet0/0/0] undo portswitch

Then You need to configure IP Address on G0/0/1:
[Huawei] interface G0/0/1
[Huawei - G0/0/1] ip address x.x.x.x

Note:
1-AR129CGVW-L do not support the VLANIF interface.
2-IP address on Mikrotik should be from same range of x.x.x.x
