Problem Description
Huawei ONT HG8342M is connected to the OLT of another vendor. The fault symptom is that the ONU fails to dial-up. The 619 and 628 data negotiation errors are displayed.
Problem Analysis
1. Check whether the lower-layer link is properly connected and whether the optical modem status indicator and OLT status are normal.
2. Check whether the account and password are correct. Use different PCs to perform the dialup test. The message "628." is still displayed.
3. Contact R&D engineers to locate the fault, Enter 192.168.100.1 in the address box of the browser to enter the ONT web page. Enter the account and password to enable the remote login function of the lan port.

The physical address learning of the lan interface of the HG8342M is disabled. As a result, the dialup packets from the PON port cannot be forwarded according to the physical address, and then are forwarded in broadcast mode. Forwards the packets to the PC based on the broadcast table.

Solution Description
1. Enable the physical address learning capability of the ONT when the OLT is connected to the OLT.
2. Upgrade the software version of the optical modem. Preventive measures are taken in the new version, and physical learning is not disabled.

1. During the routine optical modem test, the fault analysis roadmap must be clear. The fault can be excluded from the bottom layer to Layer 3 protocols and packets to avoid missing points.
