HiCoins as reward: 3 (problem unresolved)

Hi,

What is DS&US Frame BIP error? why do these values increase ?  How can we solve the problem

Hi, friend.

Downstream frame BIP error count (DS Frame BIP): Indicates the count of downstream frame BIP errors since the OLT starts up.

Upstream frame BIP error count (US Frame BIP): Indicates the count of upstream frame bit-interleaved parity (BIP) errors since the OLT starts up. The GPON Encapsulation Mode (GEM) frame is checked, and if the frame is faulty, a BIP error is considered as generated. The line quality decreases with the count of BIP error.

There are many reasons for the increase of the error count, which need to be manually checked. For example, the transmission line is faulty (the fiber is faulty or the connector has foreign objects) or the ONT optical module is faulty.

Similarly, you can run the following command on the OLT:

display statistics ont-line-quality

This command is used to query the line quality statistics for an optical network terminal (ONT) under the xPON port. You can monitor the line quality either by related alarms or line quality statistics. When you monitor the line quality by line quality statistics, you can mask the line quality alarms, which reduces the number of alarms and therefore reduces the CPU usage to promote system performance.

Thanks.

Hi, do you mean you don't understand what the LOFi alarm and DOWi alarm mean?

Yes, Solution is to replace ONT or replace the fiber connected to the ONT.

Hi, friend.

The LOFi alarm count: Indicates the times of loss of frame of onu indication(LOFi) alarm since the ONT goes on line. If four consecutive frames of an OLT fail to locate an upstream frame of an ONU, the LOFi alarm is generated, the system reports the 0x2e112006 The loss of frame of ONU indication (LOFi) occurs alarm, and the ONU goes offline. This alarm is different from the loss of optical signals of ONU indication(LOSi) alarm, as the LOSi alarm is generated when four consecutive frames of an OLT fail to receive an upstream optical signal of an ONU, LOFi can receive upstream optical signal of the ONU, but fails to locate the upstream frame.

The DOWi alarm count: Indicates the times of drift of window of onui (DOWi) since the OLT starts up.

As for the solution to reduce the DS Frame BIP count or US Frame BIP count, I cannot identify the solution. The possible causes are as follows: The fiber connector is dirty, the fiber is bent excessively, the splicing quality is poor, and the ONT optical module is faulty. You need to check it out.

Thanks.
