OMS_SSF_O ALARM IN ITL BOARD/1600G

HiCoins as reward: 0 (problem unresolved)

Hi, i am asking for help about the OMS_SSF_O alarm in a ITL board. The platform is 1600G, but i was checking in the manual, but the information about this alarm, is not clear and not enough about the procedure to follow, in order to clear the alarm.

In the remote node, there are some alarms:

OTS_LOS alarm in FIU Board.

OMS_SSF alarm in ITL board.

Following the signal flow, i guess the alarms in the remote node, are consequent from the OMS_SSF_O in the Local Node.

I appreciate your help!

Dear friend!

For the OMS_SSF-O alarm:

Possible Causes

1. The logical fiber connection is not consistent with the actual fiber connection.

2. Because of a fiber cut, low optical power, dispersion, or failure in overhead signals on the upstream OTS layer, the FDI-O and SSF-O of the OMS layer are inserted into the downstream station; or the overhead signals on the local OTS layer fail, and thus the OMS layer reports this alarm.

Procedure

1. Check whether the logical fiber connection is consistent with the actual fiber connection or not. If not, modify the logical fiber connection to make it consistent with the actual fiber connection.

2. Check whether there is OTS_LOS-O or OOS_LOST alarm on the FIU connected to the local board, If yes, clear the OTS_LOS-O or OOS_LOST alarm by following the proper handling procedure.

3. If the alarm persists, check whether there is the OTS_LOS-O or OOS_LOST alarm at the opposite station and all upstream stations. If yes, clear the OTS_LOS-O or OOS_LOST alarm by following the proper handling procedures.

For the OTS_LOS alarm:

Possible Causes

The OTS_LOS-P and OTS_LOS-O alarms exist at the opposite station.

Procedure

Query the alarm on the NMS and record the IDs of the optical interface and channel where the alarm is generated.

1. Check whether the logical fiber connection of the FIU is consistent with the physical fiber connection. If not, modify the configuration of the logical fiber connection so that logical fiber connection is consistent with the physical fiber connection.

2. Check and make sure that the fiber connection between the "IN" interface of the local FIU and the opposite station is correct and there is no fiber disconnection.

3. If the alarm persists, check whether if too large attenuation is added to the "IN" interface of the FIU, if yes, adjust the attenuation to a proper value.

4. If the alarm persists, check and make sure that fibers connected to the interfaces of the FIU are correct and there is no fiber disconnection.

Related Information

Your judgment was correct.

Please clear the OTS_LOS alarm at the opposite site at first.

Check the link between the local multiplexed optical signals and the peer multiplexed optical signals (between two ITL boards).

For example, check whether the physical fiber connection is consistent with the logical fiber connection, whether the fiber or patch cord is broken, whether the connector is loose, and whether the attenuation is excessively large.

Thank you!

Thank you for your feedback! In Past day, we applied a Warm Reset on the SCC Card Board. After that action, the alarms were cleared!
