OLT couldn't set IP to ONU

HiCoins as reward: 0 (problem unresolved)

Hello,

I'm quite new to MA5608T. I'm trying to follow guides from this forum and from official PDF file from Huawei but it doesn't work the way I want. Here is my setup

MikroTik Router <> OLT <> ONU

To cut short, I added ONU to OLT (successful) and I tried to set static IP to ONU but ONU IP did not change. I tried all DHCP, Static and even PPPOE but nothing changed on ONU side.

Basically, ONU IP will be provided by Mikrotik Router.

I just want internet service to ONU (not VOIP or IPTV services). Then users can connect to ONU via Wifi or Ethernet ports to use internet at home.

Is there any guide or anyone can help me please?

Thanks in an advanced!

Hello, friend!

The router is connected to the OLT in your networking, and the OLT is connected to the ONU?

Can you provide the MA5608T version, ONU model, and the city where you are located?

Thanks!

Hello, friend!

Can you provide your configuration?

Maybe I need to understand from your configuration that the configuration didn't work.

Thanks!

Thank you very much for your reply.

To make is simplier, I just want to ping to ONU from OLT side. But I cannot do for some reason. IP did not even update on ONU side. However, I can add, see optical info and reset remotely from OLT side.

Hi,

Based on the information you provided:
MA5608T version: MA5600V800R015C00.

The device version is too early and does not support the gpon ont home-gateway and ont internet-config commands.

Thanks for your reply.

I thought this is just firmware version.

In any case, I should be able to set IP remotely from OLT right? I will get the info you requested as in previous post.

Thanks again!

Yes, my friend!
Generally, ONT network parameters, including IP addresses, can be managed and configured through the OLT.
