Hello,


Can the LUNA2000 be used for complete off grid systems?

What components are needed to configure a complete system, eg: I have 20 solar panels and want 15 KW or 20 KW battary storage.

Hello,

There is unclear advice as to whether LUNA 2000 ESS can operate in pure off-grid mode in conjunction with L1 and M1 inverters. Latest LUNA Manual states that pure off-grid mode is possible and does NOT require Backup Box. Extracts from the manual are attached.

However replies to this forum thread indicate that a Backup Box is required.

Can this be clarified please.

Backup is not required only when LUNA and L1 (single-phase) inverters are configured.

Hello, dear.
A pure off-grid solution needs to meet several conditions：
The pure off-grid ESS consists of the PV strings, LUNA2000 batteries, inverter, AC switch, and load. In off-grid mode, PV strings and batteries must be configured.

The pure off-grid ESS supports only a single inverter and does not support parallel connection of inverters.

Optimizer is not supported in the pure Off-grid ESS Networking. Otherwise, the system may fail to start.

Thank you very much, I have all the requisites however my inverter goes into failure.
I have the parameters in pure off grid and the system throws me communication failure of the smart meter.
How can i solve it?

Check the alarms generated by the inverter and whether the communications cable is faulty.
No meter is required in a pure off-grid system.
