The goal of the communication system is to transfer data, achieve communication and transfer information of all kinds.
Information in communication systems is called traffic, and this has more than one type: data, email, photo, video, chat, voice call and SMS.
We use in communications operations a thing called modulation, and this will be a modification of the signal through another signal called the carrier. This modification will be in one of these parameters Frequncy Amplitude Phase
There are two main types of modulation and they are
Analog ( am , FM , pm )
Digital ( ask , fsk , psk )
The most commonly used type is qam, which means Quadrature amplitude modulation
Phase and amplitude are controlled and the information is sent on the so-called symbol. The higher the number of symbols sent on the same carrier, the higher the speed and the speed of data transmission, and also the higher the error rate.
The error rate is one of the important factors for choosing a communication system called bit error ratio
It is calculated by dividing the number of bits in which an error occurred by the sum of all bits sent within the frame.
