Hi.

Is there a link where it says - that you can change ip address of the maintenace port? in HCNA storage book there is nothing about purposes of maintenace port...some where i read, if I do not confuse, that this port is used when you technical specialist and you don't know the address of MANAGEMENT port....maintenace port ip address is always know and the same

These two ports can both be used for management of the storage system.
You can consider the maintenance network port as a backup port of the management network port. Typically, those two ports have the same function: to manage the system using web-based DeviceManager or command-based CLI.

Under some certain circumstances, you will need to use the maintenance port instead of the management network port:
1. Both management network ports are occupied, for example, to run the Cloudservice, or other system monitoring utilities. In this case, you'll have to connnect to the maintenance network port to log in to the DeviceManager/CLI.

2. The management network ports are faulty.

3. The management network ports cannot be accessed for the moment, due to the network segment configuration or other problems.

One more thing you have to note is that, the default IP addresses of the maintenance ports are 172.31.128.101/102, and can be changed by the developer command change system maintenance_ip.
