Problem Description
1. OceanStor 5500 V5 inspection is performed. The inspection report is as follows:
Alarm information
No alarm is displayed on the storage device.
Process
1. Log in to DeviceManager through the management network port and configure an IP address that is on the same network segment as the management IP address.
2. Choose Provisioning > Host.
3. Locate the host whose ID is 12. The following figure shows that one WWPN of the FC initiator is offline. (This figure is not the original one. The original one is offline because the customer does not allow screenshots.)
4. Log in to the VMware host and check the HBA status. It is found that the storage device cannot be viewed on one port, but the host does not report the HBA fault.
5. Check the physical link status in the equipment room. The optical module of the port connecting the FC switch to the host is off, indicating that the optical module is faulty.
6. After the optical module is replaced, refresh the host and view the storage device.
7. Log in to DeviceManager again and check whether the WWPN of the host is online.
Root Cause
The optical module of the Fibre Channel switch is faulty. As a result, only one link of the host is online and the other link is offline.
Solution
1. Check the link from the host to the switch because the initiator of the host is offline.
2. Log in to the host and check whether the HBA is faulty.
3. Check whether the indicators on the device are normal.
4. Check whether the physical link connection is normal.
5. After the fault is located, replace the faulty component.
