When an auto-discover ONT is removed, does it fall from the NCE database, it does not seem to fall, can we reduce it now and is there a retention time in NCE auto-discover?

Problem summary:

NCE is done with the port information of the old subscriber, so the subscription is made to the port without ONT and ONT cannot be online.

imaster NCE Product Version: V100R019C00CP6023

ONT model Eg8247w

OLT model EA5800-X17

Hello, friend!

If you disable automatic ONT discovery for OLT PON ports on NCE, ONTs connected to the PON ports cannot be managed by the OLT or NCE.

Generally, the default aging time of an automatically discovered ONT is 300s.

Parameter description:

During automatic ONT discovery, the board reports a group of ONT information to be confirmed. The system writes the information into an ONT registration buffer and periodically checks the buffer. If an ONT is not acknowledged within the aging time, the ONT is deleted from the buffer.
After the entries in the buffer are deleted, the board reports the ONT information again. This mechanism makes full use of buffer resources to ensure that all ONTs can be discovered normally.
The system periodically clears the registration buffer occupied by the auto-discovery ONT based on the aging time of the auto-discovery ONT. This prevents newly online ONTs from failing to register because the registration buffer is full.

Thanks!

Thank you, my friend!

Hi, friend!

1. Open the Network Management app and choose Topology > View > Physical Topology from the main menu.

2. On the Physical Topology tab page, press Ctrl+F. Enter an NE name or IP address. In the search result list that is displayed, click the name of the target NE. In the Operations area, click NE Explorer.

3. Choose GPON > GPON Management from the navigation tree.

4. On the GPON UNI Port tab page, set the filter criteria or click Click to enlarge to display the required GPON UNI ports.

5. Select a port from the list for modifying, right-click, and then choose Modify. In the dialog box that is displayed, set ONU Auto Discovery to Enable

Or you can select a port from the list for modifying, right-click, and then choose Enable ONU Auto Discovery.

6. Click OK.

Thanks!

My friend,

If there is a problem what should we do ? I tested. NCE does not work about 300s.

Hi, friend!

I am sorry! Due to the time, the answer is not complete last time. To configure the ONU to go online automatically, perform the following steps:

1. Configuring the GPON UNI Port

2. Configuring the Optical Port of the GPON UNI Port

3. Confirming the Auto-Find ONU

The preceding steps are only used to configure a GPON UNI port.

Configuring the Optical Port of the GPON UNI Port

Procedure

5. Select a GPON UNI port from the list, right-click, and then choose Enable GPON UNI Port.

6. In the dialog box that is displayed, and click Yes.

Confirming the Auto-Find ONU

An auto-find ONU is in the auto-find state before it is confirmed. The auto-find ONU can start to work only after it is confirmed.

Context

The maximum number of ONUs connected to a PON port depends on the control item PON_PORT_MAX_ONU_NUM. The value range is 0 to 255. The default value is 0, indicating that the number of the ONUs connected to a PON port is not checked when ONUs are being added.

Procedure

Path one:

5. Select a GPON UNI port from the list, and click the ONU Info tab in the lower part of the page.

6. On the ONU Info tab page, click the Auto Discover ONUs.

7. In the dialog box that is displayed, select an ONU that needs to be confirmed, and then click Confirm.

Note: Click the Refresh to obtain the ONUs in real-time.

8. In the dialog box that is displayed, set the parameters on the Basic Parameters, Network Management Channel Parameters, and Extend Parameters tab pages.

Note:

a. When ONU Type is set to MDU and the Set by using OLT check box is selected, ONUs are configured and managed remotely on the OLT through the SNMP protocol.

b. Do not add the SNMP parameters on the ONU through the serial port but issue the SNMP profile from the OLT to the ONU only.

9. Click OK.

Path two:

1. Open the Network Management app and choose Resource > Inventory > Access Resource from the main menu. Then expand PON and click GPON ONU.

2. Choose the GPON ONU Auto Discovery tab, and click Filter. Set the filter criteria to display the required ONUs.

3. Right-click on an ONU that needs to be confirmed, and choose Confirm ONU. In the dialog box that is displayed, set the parameters on the Basic Parameters, Network Management Channel Parameters, and Extend Parameters tab pages.

4. Click OK.

Thanks!

Thank you very much for your answer. This is clear. Because of our system All of ONT must be confirmed automatically. so I cannot confirm manually.

You are welcome, my friend!
So does the above answer solve the problem? If it's not resolved, I'll continue to answer it for you.
Since I'm not sure about the exact condition of the equipment, I can only answer based on your question description.

Based on past experience, if an ONT cannot be automatically discovered, it is usually related to the optical power and optical path quality.
If you can, you can check the optical power of the fiber.
