I have a question need you experts to confirm, that is two areas are configured and the total costs of two routes learnt from these two areas are the same. however, no ECMP route be generated. Why?
According to RFC 2328, the following conditions must be met for Equal Cost Multipath (ECMP) routes to be generated in OSPF:
The routes are learnt from the same area. The priorities and total costs of the routes are the same. RFC 2328 does not clearly define whether an intra-area or inter-area route is to be chosen under the same multi-area conditions. On the router, the route last advertised is not selected. For Type-5 external link-state advertisements (LSAs), RFC 2328 clearly defines that the route with the greatest area ID is preferred.
