Hello, everyone!

When a port Is added to the host on the array management page, no available port can be discovered. Do you know how to solve the issue? Don't worry, the post will share with you!

Symptom

The host and the array are connected properly through the link

 (if it is an iSCSI network, the operator must ensure that the session connection has been established on the host).

When the operator is attempting to add ports to the host using controller Web-based management page, no available port is discovered.

Fault Diagnosis

The problem occurs under any of the following conditions:

The HBA is not inserted properly;

The cable that connects the HBA and the controller is not inserted properly;

The network connection is down;

The cable is damaged;

A link fault occurs in the switch.

Solution

Step 1: Ensure that the physical links of each firmware (such as the host, switch (board),  and the array controller) are properly connected.

Step 2: Replace the optical fiber or the network cable.

Step 3: Ensure that the switch, host, and array ports are within the same area (if it is an iSCSI network, you must also ensure normal connectivity between the host and the array).

Check that the array port has the same rate as the host.1

Step 4: On the controller management page, add ports to the host.
