Hello, I'm Samantha!t_0019.gif

In the last course, I learned about various types of network addresses, and this week I focused on network device management and an overview of VRP basics.

I'm so sorry that there was a delay last week that caused the diary not to be published on time.i_f19.gif And I will update 2 diaries this week.i_f47.gif

A network contains many types of devices: Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Servers, etc.

The job of datacom is to plan and design the data network platform (mainly composed of data communication devices) according to the customer's needs and to configure and implement the network devices to finally put the network solution into practice. Then mastering the configuration and management methods of network equipment is the first step.

1. First of all, it needs set-up environment.

Ø  Console Port

The Console port is a communication serial port that is provided by the device's main control board. When the user needs to configure the device that first power on, the device can be logged in through the Console port.

The main control board provides a Console port with the port type EIA/TIA-232 DCE. The serial port of the user terminal can be directly connected to the device Console port to achieve the local configuration of the device.

Ø  Cable Awareness

The Console cable has an RJ45 crystal header on one end and a serial connector on the other. The RJ45 connector is used to connect the Console port of the RJ45 of the device, and the serial port on the other end of the cable is used to connect to the PC. Most desktop computers now have serial ports that can be directly connected to the Console cable. However, most laptops are not configured with a serial port, so we need another cable to transfer the USB-RS232 cable.

1

Through this cable, the USB end is connected to the USB port of the laptop, the RS232 connector is connected to the serial port of the Console cable, and the RJ45 connector of the Console cable is connected to the Console port of the managed network device, and the configuration environment can be set up.

 1

Now, manufacturers have also introduced a series of more convenient console cables, these console cables are linked to the RJ45 console port at one end, and the other end is linked to the computer's USB port, such cables are increasingly respected by engineers.

Ø  CLI (Command Line Interface)

Once the user logs into the switch and a command-line prompt appear, he or she enters the command line interface CLI, which is a common tool for users to interact with the switch.

2. VRP Overview

VRP (Versatile Routing Platform) is a common operating system platform for Huawei's datacom products, which adopts a component-based architecture with IP services as the core, providing application-based tailorability and scalability while realizing rich functions and features. VRP has a consistent network interface, user interface, and management interface, providing users with a flexible and rich application solution.

With TCP/IP protocol as the core, the VRP platform implements various protocols of the data link layer, network layer, and application layer, integrates data communication functions such as R&S technology, Qos technology, security technology, and voice over IP technology in the operating system and provides excellent data forwarding capability for network devices based on IP forwarding engine technology.

The above is my summary of this course. There may be some problems. I hope that I can review my knowledge and enhance my understanding. I also hope that you can point out the mistakes and shortcomings in this course and learn from each other.

Thanks dear all!i_f46.gif

you need to effectively manage and maintain your digital networks so that your business can stay healthy. network management software refers to the processes, tools, and applications used to manage, operate, and maintain a network infrastructure. Performance management and error analysis are also included in network management. Simply put, network management is the process of keeping the network healthy, which in turn keeps things healthy. Network management software ensures that network resources are regularly updated and repaired in a timely manner. It also helps to collaborate with network administrators and communicate closely to take preventive measures. This allows network resources to be configured to streamline the needs of a particular service.
