Today, I'd like to share a case with you.
Problem Description
New installed DC908 transmission equipment by can't login through the default IP address which is remarked in the product document.
Problem Analysis
1. Confirm that all of the network elements are first powered on.
2. Check the product documentation to confirm that the default IP address and try to login webUI but failed.
3. Check the laptop IP and subtask setting to confirm that the IP address and network element IP address are within the same segment.
4. Confirm the led light which is on the SCC board working normally and make ping test from the laptop.
5. Check the product documentation to get the DIP switch setting which is for cleaning the parameter and reset the DIP switch to clean the parameter. then try login in again.
6. Try login by putty through the console port but currently network element not yet config panel board, failed.
7. Run Wireshark to get arp broadcast then get the IP address,
Root Cause
The factory IP address is randomly obtained from the address pool. And the default IP address given in the product documentation is incorrect.
Solution Description
OPTION-1:Configure the panel board and view the information on the LCD.
OPTION-2:Run arp tools to get the IP address (the IP address pool is 129.9.*.*/16)
OPTION-3:Throug consol port but some site network element without this hard port.
