Hi there!

The network management system (NMS) is a system used by network maintenance engineers to manage a specific network. It usually consists of hardware and software. The NMS can manage NEs and links on the entire network in batches and precisely manage NEs, boards, and ports.

The NMS manages the following contents:

1. NE commissioning: Set various NE parameters, such as the IP address and ID of the NE, and port attributes.

2. Service configuration: Configure various service channels, such as SDH trails, WDM trails, and Ethernet trails.

3. Monitoring the network status: Monitors the running status of all NEs and links on the network by querying alarms and performance data.  Provides quick and accurate data reference for maintenance engineers.

4. Manage network data: Back up or restore network data and upgrade or downgrade NE software.

5. Network analysis: resource usage, such as channel bandwidth usage.

6. Other functions, such as log management, authorization management of special functions, and so on.

Thank you!

Yes, the software is installed on the PC. If the PC cannot meet the requirements of the running environment (such as the memory, hard disk space, and CPU computing capability), the software needs to be installed on the server. Generally, the U2000 and NCE are installed on the server. It allows maintenance personnel to configure devices remotely.
