Hello,

I have a Netengine 8000 m1a router connected to a 1Gbps port switch. Tha maximum throughput I manage is 100 Mbps.

The information of the router port is:

Loopback:none, Maximal BW:1G, Current BW:100M, full-duplex mode, negotiation: enable, Pause Flowcontrol:Receive Enable and Send Disable
Remaining bandwidth deducted from channelized sub-interface: 100 Mbits/sec

Swithc info:

Port Mode: COMMON COPPER, Supported rates: 1000M/100M
    Speed : 1000,   Loopback: NONE
    Duplex: FULL,   Negotiation: ENABLE
    Mdi   : AUTO,   Flow-control: DISABLE

Why the Bw of the port is 100M instead of 1G? How can I fix it?

Thanks in advance

Hi,
The interface is controlled to be 100Mbps by default, you should load the license to expand the bandwidth to 1Gbps. Please check License Item Description-NetEngine 8000 M1A.

Hi,

As you said you are managing 100M at max so it only shows the current BW on the specific port. You can read more here:

I hope it helps.

Thanks for your reply,

May be I missing something but do you refers to the speed of the interface? The link is UP and I believe that it's bandwidth is 1 Gbps (I forced speed of the switch to 1Gbps) Regarding the command speed of the router only give the options of 10, 100 and auto. This is for the Gigabit copper ports. If I use the same speed command for the Gigabit optical interfaces (without SFP) it appears 10,100,1000 and auto. Does it mean that the cooper interfaces (Gigabit 0/2/[28-31]) can only work to 100 Mbps even the link is up to 1Gbps). I couldn't test optical interfaces as I don't have SFPs.

Thanks in advance

:-( This is a big drawback. I believe this information is not specified in the specifications of the router, and I don't see this license in the list of licesnses of data sheet of the product.  This information should be present in the data sheet of the product :-(((

Checking the licenses of my router I found:
LCR8SM01XGEC0      --             2          NetEngine 8000 M1 Fixed Port 1*10GE Upgrade RTU
 LCR8SM01XGEC0     Resource       2          NetEngine 8000 M1 Fixed Port 1*10GE Upgrade RTU
LCR8SM001GEC0      --             4          NetEngine 8000 M1 Fixed Port 1*GE Upgrade RTU
 LCR8SM001GEC0     Resource       4          NetEngine 8000 M1 Fixed Port 1*GE Upgrade RTU

Does it mean I have 4 ports Ge and 2 10 Ge ports? If this is the case, how I  activate them to work at 1Gbps instead of 100 Mbps?

Thanks

Hi,
Please active the RTU license firstly. You can refer to the guide Activating Port Hardware RTU Licenses.
