Dear users,

I have problem with routing, don't know why but maybe you can help me.

I connect two routers with direct link, my setup is:

- NE40E - 192.168.100.1/24 and static routes to 10.10.10.0/24

- R1 - 192.168.100.2/24

When I ping NE40E to R1 and from R1 to NE40E is working but when I trying to ping from R1 to 10.10.10.1 I can't ping dont know why.

Please help

Thanks

Posted by user_3186841 at 2019-11-09 13:00Thanks for reply.I have read that manual and didn't help.  Static route is: ip route-static 10.10.10 ...

@user_3186841 hello,
you are kinldy advised to check if there is any routes towards to the network 10.10.10.0/24 on router R1, if yes, then check if there is the routes towards to the 192.168.100.0/24 on the destination router(which is 10.10.10.1).

If all the checking result is positive, then there might be some route control items on NE40E. You can check if there are any route control items, such as PBR or route policy, on NE40E

don't know what the configuration is on the two routers, and I don't know where the static routes are pointing. If you are trying to configure a static route, you can refer to https://support.huawei.com/hedex/hdx.do?docid=EDOC1100109721&id=EN-US_TASK_0172365449&lang=en

Thanks for reply.
I have read that manual and didn't help.
Static route is: ip route-static 10.10.10.0 255.255.255.0 10.6.6.1
10.6.6.1 is R2 - NE40E is 10.6.6.50
Traffic is not passed between R1 and R2 it stops on NE40E

You have an interface on 10.6.6.0/24 network?
When you put the display ip routing command, the 10.10.10.0 /24 route is present?

I think the problem is policy or something else.
As you can see below i can ping R2
[~HUAWEI]ping 10.6.6.1
PING 10.6.6.1: 56 data bytes, press CTRL_C to break
Reply from 10.6.6.1: bytes=56 Sequence=1 ttl=64 time=1 ms
Reply from 10.6.6.1: bytes=56 Sequence=2 ttl=64 time=1 ms
[~HUAWEI]ping 10.10.10.1
PING 10.10.10.1: 56 data bytes, press CTRL_C to break
Reply from 10.10.10.1: bytes=56 Sequence=1 ttl=61 time=2 ms
Reply from 10.10.10.1: bytes=56 Sequence=2 ttl=61 time=3 ms

From R1 I can ping all routes from NE40E but i can't pass NE40E to R2.

Posted by user_3186841 at 2019-11-11 20:40 - From R1 192.168.100.2 i can ping NE40E 10.6.6.50, 192.168.100.1- From R1 i can't ping R2 10.6.6.1 ...
you are kindly advised to check if there are routes towards to 192.168.100.0/24 on R2. When you ping 10.10.10.1/24 on NE40E, the source IP of the ping packet is 10.6.6.50/24 rather than 192.168.100.1/24
if you are not able to access the R2, you can try to ping 10.10.10.1/24 on NE40E with source 192.168.100.1 to exam the suspicion. If the ping result is normal, then the reason for R1 ping 10.10.10.1/24 failing might be traffic policy, and the further inspection is required.

Hello!
1. Have you static route on the R1 to the 10.10.10.0/24 or default route to the NE40E?
2. Have you static route on the R2 to the 192.168.100.0/24?
3. Try "tracert 10.10.10.6" from the R1 and "tracert 192.168.100.2" from the R2. These commands can point the fail jump.
4. If it does not help, please write "ip route-table" of all the routers. Thank you!
